AGS mission, in part, is to school the public on the types of working dog, how to treat them in public, and how they are trained to help the disabled. School children are our main focus because they are always eager to learn about our dogs which makes them easier to teach. We also attend conferences where we set up informative booths and give seminars in order to educate the community. However, our best form of education comes from our members. Word of mouth is more powerful than any other program or seminar we could give, especially if that word comes from someone who truly cares about what we do.
The AGS Education Pack is responsible for giving educational presentations to community groups (all age levels). Presentations may be about an individual type of service dog, all four types of service dogs, or a specific aspect of service dog use or training. Presentations may sometimes include hands-on demonstrations or activities involving service-dogs-in-training or liaison dogs. For more information, or to schedule a presentation email the Director of Programs.
